CeramycGuard concrete surface treatment
CeramycGuard as a concrete surface treatment
The universal nature of CeramycGuard as a concrete surface treatment has seen numerous applications in the US and UK.
Concrete Spill Chamber
After the inspection of an anaerobic digester highlighted several issues including the degradation of the concrete within the spill chamber, a coating of CeramycGuard, CrossLink VB and ComposiCoat XD was applied to the surface of the concrete asset.
The trial was completed in early 2022 aimed at providing the asset with a greater chemical resistance and since the application the asset is performing as expected with no delamination reported.
Morganza Spillway
Spillways are subjected to millions of cubic feet of flood water to reduce the risk of flooding, which affects the concrete structure both chemically and physically causing erosion and cracking.
CeramycGuard was applied to protect the structure including areas repaired using the carbon fibre repair system.
More than eight years after the application was applied and the concrete surface is pristine with no defects or signs of micro-organisms.
Food Processing
Acids and sugars along with detergents from cleaning were causing other coating technologies to de-bond and tear apart causing deterioration and microbial growth.
The floor was treated with CeramycGuard and ComposiCoat XD to prevent all chemical ingress and stop microbial growth. The new surface also chemically bonds so it will not delaminate like previous coatings.
A year after application and the floor is still performing perfectly with no delamination. Floors in a further two plants have been specified because of the performance seen.
