Vittoria welcomes Haydale to Vittoria Park
Supplying functionalised graphene for bicycle tyres
The future of bicycle tyre development has been given an added boost thanks to the newly opened Vittoria Park close to Milan, Italy. Prior to its official opening on 21 October, Haydale CEO Keith Broadbent and UK Site Director John-Mark Seymour were welcome guests of Vittoria.
Haydale and Vittoria started working together in July on supplying functionalised graphene for bicycle tyres with improved performance. In the company of COO Massimo Zanco, Senior Advisor Alberto La Lumia and President & CEO Stijn Vriends, the visit helped to strengthen the partnership between the two companies as well as reviewing some of the exciting materials and technology developments.
The 5 hectare Vittoria Park is the world’s first all discipline cycling experience, innovation centre and knowledge hub for bicycle tyre development with more than 4km of tracks including different road and gravel surfaces.
Importantly for the development of graphene and new materials technologies the park will also house the Vittoria Labs with more than 2,000m2 of high-tech testing facilities that will combine internal and external testing for the first time in the world. The space includes the Cycling Knowledge Hub to develop innovation with start-ups, university programmes and cycling related projects aimed at taking tyre development to the next level.
Commenting on the visit, Haydale CEO Keith Broadbent said: “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Vittoria for the hospitality extended to Haydale during our recent visit. The new park facilities are brilliant. Together with your state-of-the-art facility it sets the scene for an exciting future for Vittoria, and Haydale is delighted to be collaborating with the team.”
